An entrancing sphere with waves of sand.
Sandstone is one of the most common types of sedimentary rock found in any kind of environment where there is water--including deserts!
This natural mineral was created 180 to 220 million years ago by wind and water as part of the geological formation “Shinarump.” The colors and designs were induced by a mineral spring containing iron oxides.
This Arizona Sierra sandstone is found in Northern Arizona. The design patterns are natural and its color is achieved by heat treating the stone. This causes the iron oxides found naturally in the stone to oxide—the richer the iron the deeper the color.
