Sandstone is one of the most common types of sedimentary rock found in any kind of environment where there is water--including deserts! This mineral is created when sand is cemented together into rock. The bands formed are due to layers of sand that differ characteristically.
This Arizona Sierra sandstone is found in Northern Arizona. The design patterns are natural and its color is achieved by heat treating the stone. This causes the iron oxides found naturally in the stone to oxide—the richer the iron the deeper the color.
Has 4 cork stoppers on the base to prevent scratches and comes with a tea light.
