Azurite-Malachite, or “Azurmalachite” combines the two colorful copper-based minerals. Azurite is a rich royal blue mineral that is produced from the oxidation of copper ore deposits, and the green Malachite forms in very similar ways to azurite.
Azurmalachite forms in shallow geochemical environments that alternation perfect conditions for creating azurite and ideal conditions for malachite. Azurite can lighten in color over time due to weathering and oxidization of the surface, which can ultimately turn it into malachite.
Azurmalachite can be found in the United States, Africa, Mexico, France Southeast Asia, and China.
