Gold Sheen Obsidian for reclaiming personal power

Gold sheen obsidian is obsidian that displays a golden chatoyance in bright light.   Used traditionally as a scry stone, gold sheen obsidian allows us to see all aspects of a problem and the consequences of our future actions.  It helps in releasing parts of our ego that no longer serve, and actively choosing our best selves.

Obsidian itself is a type of volcanic glass formed from molten lava, and this gold sheen variety also has the generic properties of obsidian. This crystal is excellent for psychic protection and grounding.  Obsidian has been used by shamans and healers to make contact with the spirit world. Because black obsidian has a very strong grounding energy, it may not always be comfortable to work with. If you have difficulty with it, you may prefer to work with Apache Tears, another type of obsidian with a more gentle energy.
