Crazy lace agate, or Mexican Agate, is a banded chalcedony with inclusions of iron and aluminum, which creates the "crazy" and complex patterning of reds, browns, grays, yellows and blacks.
Compared to other minerals, crazy lace agate is relatively young as it is thought to have formed 65-90 millions years ago only in Chihuahua, Mexico.
