This man-made synthetic glass, nicknamed Tiffany's Stone and the Ice Cream Stone, appears to have a blue color when placed against a black background, yet gleams a milky white with pinks, yellows, and oranges when on a white background. This opalescent glass is translucent so it is generally possible to see through. It is a glass-resin mostly made of dolomite and metal, which creates the beautiful colors. Natural Opalite is rare and forms from opalized volcanic ash, generally found in Africa and Brazil.
