This Sikhote-Alin meteorite fragment was found in the Sikhote-Alin mountains of Siberia. Formed over 4 billion years ago, the largest recorded shower of iron chunks rained down in February of 1947. This meteorite was classified as coarsest octahedrite of type IIB. Its composition consists of elements such as iron, nickel, sulfur, and phosphorus.
